I was hyped when I learned that the 2017 Solar Eclipse would be passing right over north Kansas City. Seeing, and then being able to photograph it was truly amazing. Some people said to forget about taking pictures due to camera quality, time, enjoying the moment, bla bla bla… so what. I ended up getting some great pictures out of it.
It started out in 2015 as a college project… The idea was to use a small flashlight as both an illumination tool and a paintbrush in a pitch black room. Huge shout out to my sister for suffering through my hobby!
Another assignment from my college days involved a landscape picture. After class let out for the day, I went driving around the area looking for inspiration. I-35 was under construction nearby, and I found an area where work on two bridges crossed above some railroad tracks.
The first image was a wide angle shot of the whole bridge with our Midwest weather gathering in the background.
The second image is a close up of the work between the two bridges and the meeting of concrete and earth.

With more on the way…
